Hi, my name is Jia Li. I am a software engineer. I have a real passion for technology. After serving in the military I decided to learn how to code. I was pleasantly surprised at how naturally I took to it and how much I love it the more I do it.

I used online resources such as CodeAcademy to learn a few languages and started doing copious amounts of HackerRank, LeetCode problems and was seriously addicted to the programming style problem solving. I took a big leap and started searching for a coding bootcamp and came upon App Academy. The learning experience was tough but rewarding. I am now a confident software developer with a thirst for competence in an even wider field within this profession. By the way, check out some of my projects!.

My Projects

3045

This was my App Academy BootCamp's Capstone project. It uses a Python/Flask backend and a React/Redux frontend. It has user auth and two full CRUD features that displays my mastery of fullstack development using the technology mentioned. It is set in a fictional dystopian future where A.I use this app to book their travels to a desolate earth in the year 3045. Users are presented with 6 fully fleshed out fictional destinations made according to real world locations all with their lodgings and near by activities. They can create bookings or leave reviews. All of which are editable and deletable using React components which grants a crips and intuative user experience.

EtsyWishlist

This was a group project made with 3 other classmates in App Academy. This was a reimagined version of Etsy where users are allowed to use live products (directly accessed from the Etsy API) to create registrations for events such as weddings or birthdays. This Also used Python/Flask backend and React/Redux frontend. Users with accounts can search for products that are currently live on Etsy.com and create wishlists, view their friends' wishlists and links for the items are available if one would like to purchase the actual item off Etsy.

Aerial Flickr

This was my first Solo project with App Academy and it used everything I've learned to that point which was React/Jinja2 for the frontend and Express.Js/Sequelize.Js for the backend. This was a Flickr clone focusing on my love for aerial photograpy. It allows users to upload photos, leave comments, and create or delete albums.

HistoryQuora

This was my first fullstack project at App Academy. It was a cooperation between 4 students. We were all pretty geeky so we choose to make an app that's in the spirit of Quora but only for history questions and answers. We used what we had learned up to that point which was JavaScript/Pug.Js frontend and Express.Js/Sequelize.Js backend. Users are allowed to sign up, submit questions, search for questions, and comment on them. There's even an upvote feature that only allows each user to upvote something only once.

My Passions

My passion has always and always will be in technology. Been since I was a child and is the one thing that has remained a constant in my life. With a career in software development, my dreams are on the precipice of becoming reality

Over the last 4 years I have constructed, tested, scrapped and remade over 250 experimental drones of the conventional and unconventional(prototypal) configurations and have no intention of stopping. Checkout my Youtube Channel
